Text/images in the middle (gutter) of a spread

You can have text and image frames spanning the spread. The inside, lighter gray border represents a safe area, which is the gutter of the book. It is recommended that you keep any important elements (such as small copy text, clip art, etc.) out of this area, to prevent them from being hidden in the gutter once the book is bound. Also avoid placing photos so that faces or any other important elements are not located in the gutter.

Items like large headline text & photos that span across the spread will usually be ok. However you may need to make adjustments to make sure they appear properly in the finished book. The Preview will give you a basic idea of the finished result, but you should always check with your yearbook publisher if you are unsure.
